FANN Booth #902 at the 2022 Landscape Show in Orlando

Shout out to FANN member Flowing Well Tree Farm in Pierson, Volusia County (new owner Andrew Norouzian), for providing the lovely Nuttall Oak, also known as Texas Red Oak, Quercus texana, not native to Florida but native to many other southeastern states and useful in landscaping to zone 9A.

Shout out to Megan Hutson, Native Butterfly Flowers, for creating larval and adult forms of the Redstriped Oakworm Moth (shown on its oak host in photo). This handy prop is used to illustrate the point that Doug Tallamy, entomologist and author, makes about bringing life into the landscape with native plants — our plants outperform non-native species by creating caterpillars, critical food sources for baby birds and on up the food chain. Doug is signing books in the FANN booth #902 at 9am Wednesday August 24.
