Putting Wildflower Research to Work: Mini-Symposium for Industry Professionals

3:00-6:00pm, THURS, April 4, 2013, at the NATIVE PLANT SHOW

Sponsored by the Florida Wildflower Foundation, this mini-symposium will provide nursery and landscape professionals with an overview of science-based information on seed germination and storage, propagation methods, and the establishment and management of native wildflower plantings. This educational session will feature three of Florida’s leading native wildflower researchers:

  • Dr. Hector Perez, University of Florida seed biologist in Gainesville
  • Dr. Mack Thetford, University of Florida IFAS faculty at the West Florida Research & Education Center in Milton, talking about his work with Dr. Sandra B. Wilson (UF/IFAS Indian River REC in Fort Pierce) to develop 10 new native wildflower propagation protocols
  • Dr. Jeff Norcini, Oecohort, of Tallahassee, who will present the science behind recommendations for establishing and managing native wildflower plantings

Cost to attend is $25. Pre-register by March 28
