Freshwater Marshes Zone 10

Vegetation is predominantly herbaceous, not woody, and accumulations of large amounts of peat on top of sediments or limestone are common. Most marsh plants need fertile soils and standing water most of the year to do well. They tolerate frost and some shading, but not salt exposure. Water depth determines the distribution of floating, submerged, and emergent aquatic plants. Everglades Region Saw Grass Marshes n Broward, Hendry, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties.
